It’s the first day of the month! I always begin a new month asking my class what they want to learn this month. When we have extra time, I try to show fun videos about their curiosities! Kenwood Elementary

Fraction tiles has been an essential tool in my classroom when comparing fractions and finding equivalence! Students today were able to find as many fractions as the can that equal one-half! We talked about our noticings and observations for a rich conversation! Kenwood Elementary

Wow!! Our third grade field trip to Squire Boone Caverns was incredible! I can’t wait to continue learning more about caves now that we have experienced them in person. Kenwood Elementary

Today students explored using shapes to build their names! They had to practice drawing the shapes and labeling the shapes they used. At the end, they were able to use geometry vocabulary to share their drawings with a partner! Kenwood Elementary

Today was full of my favorite things: projects, partners, flexible seating, and fun! 😊 Students are working hard on a project where they are planning a camping trip using their addition and subtraction knowledge. I celebrate any day they are excited to do math! Kenwood Elementary

Instant engagement! Using pop-its to make arrays to multiply has been a game changer! Students are able to create arrays and solve multiplication problems with ease 🤩 When I remove the pop-its and ask them to draw instead they are more successful, too! Kenwood Elementary

My favorite part of doing live Greg Tang lessons is not only that the kids are incredibly engaged and learn a lot but also that I learn a lot!! Can’t wait for the next one 🤩 Kenwood Elementary

Today we kicked off our first ever PBL on Severe Weather! Thanks to Brian Neudorff from the National Weather Service for helping kick off our project by providing students with the problem we need to solve! I’m so lucky to be partnering on this PBL with the amazing Daphne Haefner!

Today we celebrated our PBL cohort for completing their first PBL! It was so awesome to see our students work!
