We were out in Malling this morning to weed and mulch the 21 #trees we have planted there so far. We're planting some more around this area of #Lewes later in the year.

🐭 #BankVoles don’t hibernate, so you can spot them all year round. 🌳 Keep an eye out for them along #woodland edges and hedgerows, foraging for fruits, nuts and insects. 👉 Learn more: bit.ly/4dEfmnD

Instead of allowing the use of bee-killing pesticides, we would like to see @GovUK support farmers who are working towards transitioning away from the use of harmful chemicals. Ask British Sugar to help farmers sell neonic-free sugar. 👉 wtru.st/back-beet-farm…

The role of street trees 🌳in reducing flash-flooding🌊 Simply, they SLOW THE RATE🏃‍♂️rainwater builds up in our streets 👇 🫴Holding water in their canopies 🧽 Roots enable the ground to absorb more water Plus 🌳🌳🌳they cool our cities, thus lowering air moisture. Pretty cool😎

The berries are beginning to turn red at last on the three Whitebeam #trees we planted alongside Abergavenny Road, #Lewes, in December 2016. They are part of a group of 12 native trees that we chose to provide food for birds.
