Hayhurums (Հայհրում) were Armenian-speaking Christians who belonged to the Greek Orthodox Church. Their name combines Armenian Hay (Armenian) and Rûm (Eastern Roman/Byzantine). They represented a unique cultural bridge between Armenian language and Byzantine Orthodox faith.
