Academia has made a huge mistake in the last 20 years trying to walk away from being the 'ivory tower' and instead engage in activism.

The whole point of academia (and its freedom of inquiry) is that it stands outside.... To restore excellence and trust, return to the tower.

Glad to see Jonathan Levin named Stanford president. Good choice with the right values and drive to bring higher ed back. Hopefully other elite schools are taking note of Stanford's good decision making...
