Excellent study by Jay Lubow from Leslie Goo on a role for IgA1 antibodies in potent and broad flavivirus neutralization, without in vitro ADE. Another strong line of evidence showing us we need to think beyond IgG for humoral antiviral immunity 💯

It brings me so much joy to unveil organizō: an online forum for sharing organizational tools & resources to support scientific operations and mentoring. Seeing Organizō come to life is beyond anything I could have dreamed. I guess I’m a founder now! organizolife.com

I hope the academic system can learn to better support a diverse workforce, accommodate life events, and value the pursuit of knowledge beyond arbitrary metrics of success. 5/n

Excited to attend #ASV2023 and reengage with the virology community! Check out work on inflammasome-virus interactions from Jessie Kulsuptrakul (W8-3), Christina Yap (P11-5), and Marisa Yonemitsu (P52-1) as well as from our friends in the Matt Daugherty (W8-3, W9-6). #LoveVirology

So sorry to miss #ASV2023 this time. I will be (jealously) following the Twitterverse for colleagues and friends, but be sure to check Qing Yang work on Stem Cell innate immunity this Monday at Workshop 39-15 (Athena IJ 4:50pm) and Poster 22-38 (Grand Hall 8) #LoveVirology

.jaylubow takes us behind the scenes of the Leslie Goo, where they’ve discovered a potent antibody that appears to block #dengue and #Zika viruses. The team’s findings could help lead to more effective vaccines and treatments for these diseases. 🦟🦠💉

Our discovery and characterization of the first IgA bnAb against flaviviruses is now published in PLOS Pathogens Congrats to jaylubow Lisa Levoir Duncan Ralph and other key collaborators journals.plos.org/plospathogens/…

Congrats Caroline Kikawa ! This study maps all sites on Zika virus envelope protein important for neutralization by potent and cross-reactive antibodies. Perhaps most surprising finding is that these sites are different even for antibodies with highly convergent structural footprints.
