Action started again @bay_warden #CommunityGarden after winter hiatus. Thanks #AliCorbel SwaleBoroughCouncil & other visiting experts from Kent Wildlife Trust for monitoring species. We have 3 ID signs ordered. 1 board just for the Bees we have! Exciting diversity including Wasp Spider.
Apparently some people think @bay_warden #CommunityGarden looks ‘scruffy’ but we’ve been advised to hold our nerve. #Rewilding takes time & patience. The rich increase in biodiversity already proving the case. So, some careful management in collab with locals & SwaleBoroughCouncil
Since last Autumn @bay_warden have planted a mixed hedge along one boundary, created & nurtured a slow worm habitat, added tree stumps as natural seating, donated by prison. Trees on order for small mixed orchard in one corner & plans for a Bog Garden in another. SwaleBoroughCouncil
It now officially says Warden #CommunityGarden on the Digimap for Schools map! So thrilling to see that after all the hard work & enormous support from SwaleBoroughCouncil & councillors of different persuasions & local charities too. #collaboration SwaleBoroughCouncil Mike Baldock 1/2
Excited to be meeting year 5s this week to introduce #CommunityGarden project funded by NAEE in the UK. - Taken pics to show some garden flora & fauna & of course preparing some past & present Digimap for Schools maps so we can talk about ‘change’ ahead of their first visit. #rewilding
The bin at warden bay car park after a busy weekend. Surely we need a bigger bin with a lid here SwaleBoroughCouncil
Blue bin overflowing after being missed yet again last Wednesday, made an online report on Wednesday evening and phone call on Monday 19 th still not been emptied. Our house seems to be invisible to the bin men, it’s a regular occurrence SwaleBoroughCouncil
