The best part of my job is when I get to phone members of #TeamHomeAffairs who have been identified by clients for going above and beyond the call of duty. Together, we are making great strides to build a better working environment so we can deliver dignity for all! 🇿🇦

Today’s ruling by the ConCourt provides an opportunity to restore the dignity of South Africans who unconstitutionally lost their citizenship after 6 October 1995. Home Affairs is already working to build an online portal for those affected to confirm citizenship reinstatement 🇿🇦

A decade ago, I was a winner of St. Gallen Symposium’s global essay competition for “Leaders of Tomorrow.” Ten years later, I’m back at this important event learning and showcasing our work to digitally transform the Home Affairs ecosystem. The world is taking note of our progress! 🇿🇦

📣 We are LIVE! These 1.4 million citizens and lawful residents have always been eligible for the green ID book - but not for the more-secure Smart ID. Thanks to Home Affairs’ digital reforms, they can now replace the vulnerable green book with the Smart ID for the very first

Delighted to see the upgraded platform in action. Limited slots at banks is precisely why our next digital reform is to expand this service from current 30 branches to 1000+, eliminating queues and expanding access. #TeamHomeAffairs is building a service delivery revolution 🇿🇦

During the #SONA25 debate, I announced 5 annual priorities. These digital reforms are laying the foundation for us to do away with Green ID fraud, digitalise and automate visas and borders, and build a Digital ID platform to propel SA from laggard to world leader. On schedule! 🇿🇦

This morning, #TeamHomeAffairs launched 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 in Cape Town. To restore rule of law, we’re focusing on hotspots across SA to arrest, convict and deport illegal immigrants occupying public spaces. Lawful, intel-led, tech-driven solutions in action! 🇿🇦

I strongly support the comments by President Ramaphosa’s delegation in the Oval Office, calling for technological investment to support our existing drive to digitally transform civics services and immigration. Let’s work together to supercharge digital reform! 🇿🇦

Since early this morning, 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 has been out in force in Pretoria East, where residents have long pleaded for immigration law enforcement in Plastic View and Cemetery View. Arrests continue in this ongoing operation. Rebuilding the rule of law! 🇿🇦

This is a visionary reform that will unlock digital inclusion for poor and rural communities at a scale never seen before. It will also enable all South Africans to use our online services as #TeamHomeAffairs goes digital! 🇿🇦

Following 100s of arrests this morning, #TeamHomeAffairs just secured the first court order confirming deportations - a turnaround of only a few hours. Biometric verification and the laser-focus of 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 restoring the rule of law! 🇿🇦
