Incredible and infuriating article about private equity buying special needs schools in the US. The results are predictably terrible.

Children executed with their hands tied behind their backs.

If it makes you uncomfortable that your classmates, your neighbors, or your coworkers are against this barbarism, then you deserve to be uncomfortable.

LRAD is designed to damage your hearing. It’s a form of acoustic torture, designed to cause unbearable pain. Aiming it at Muslim students while they are praying (which requires remaining in place) is unconscionable. It’s deeply racist and violent.

As public pensions amass bigger holdings in private equity, Biden admin including Lael Brainard and state officials like NY Comptroller Tom DiNapoli are pushing for better labor standards, such as telling portfolio companies to stay neutral when workers unionize:

student organizing 4 the win

I remember how campus organizing against Iraq war felt like it took forever to build and then it became a real movement all of the sudden

being in leadership of the natl youth & student peace coalition was one of the best things I ever did

Remember how they flipped the script in 2020, saying BLM protests were about looting and riots to deflect from the point of the protest: the state execution of black lives. Remember. This deflecting is purposeful.

This is insane. The NYPD has to leave the Columbia campus & surrounding area.

Academics here have produced reams of scholarship on the NYPD’s brutality and unaccountability.

The heavy police presence threatens the safety of *our students* + *everyone around campus.* All of us.

I’ve studied the subjects of McCarthyism my entire career. I made the mistake of treating it as history, of unconsciously becoming complicit in progress narratives. Today, after the president of my university dragged her faculty before a firing squad, I know better. 🍉🍉🍉❤️🖤💚

Happy Tax Day! Lots of folks are talking about the upcoming expiration of the Trump tax cuts, but in a new paper out today, I argue we have to think bigger to strip the fallacy of trickle down economics from our tax code. rooseveltinstitute.org/publications/t…

In an impressive victory for labor, library workers at Smith College vote UNANIMOUSLY -- 33 to 0 -- in favor of unionizing with the Office & Professional Employees International Union (not counting some challenged ballots.)

What was once thought of as a “far-left protest movement” has become a national mobilization with 85 members of Congress (and counting!) and millions around the world demanding a ceasefire.

Let’s be clear on why: our organizing is working.
