No. Would be interested to hear someone propose a legal framework from elsewhere in the world which they think would make a significant difference. It’s always going to be about system capacity & refocus on the most severely ill.

The problem area is patients who don’t “engage”, but don’t want to be discharged. That’s a daily discussion in most teams. Clearly patients who do not want contact cannot be seen unless a legal order is in place.

Clearly not an unpopular opinion with mental health clinicians and patients, so how and why have we allowed this to be the media narrative?

Forget what you told the CQC, how good is the clinical supervision of band 4 & band 5 staff in your organisation?
