Loving the visual style of teaching at CoderAcademy_au 😀💡. I loosely grasped this mutation when it was covered in an MITx MOOC I did but it didn’t really click until I volunteered to hold up a box representing a variable linked to both a value and an address in memory. #MOOC
Interesting learning about Ruby Hashes in class today - seems similar to the Dictionary data type in Python? I wonder are there basic building blocks which are common to all programming languages (e.g. all have roughly similar core data types)? CoderAcademy_au #programming
Loved the walkthrough luketurnerdev gave of his AR project in today’s lighting talk. I’d never considered music as angle for virtual reality. What an immersive experience it would be to create a melody by walking through and interacting with a virtual world.CoderAcademy_au #VR
Uploaded my first repo to GitHub in class today. Pumped to start contributing to this amazing open source community. CoderAcademy_au #GitHub #OpenSource
Just presented our first app with my pair programmer Bekky Smith CoderAcademy_au. Great to get the creative juices flowing! Key lesson learnt was how to keep the the scope manageable and in focus. Good planning and communication with Bekky Smith made this a fun challenge. #teamwork
Interesting hearing about Roslyn Zolandor s journey from web development to UX. As someone from a business background (and will always be passionate about business) it’s encouraging to hear that cross functional experience is valued in tech teams. #Vodafone #techsyd CoderAcademy_au
Buzzed by the Arduino smart parking device nandini r nayak presented CoderAcademy_au today. It’ll be interesting to see how IOT disrupts how we park vehicles in the future. I know I’m looking forward to the day Google shows me available free parking. #IOT #Google #arduino
Learning fundamentals of accessibility CoderAcademy_au. With a close family member who is disabled, this is close to home. As developers we have a responsibility to ensure all members of society can effectively navigate an increasingly digitised world. #webdevelopment
Loving how dynamic the classes are CoderAcademy_au. Allowing the class room to vote on the approach we take to learning topics (e.g. challenge / review / lecture) is way more engaging then a set agenda. One-by-one we’re busting down the doors of complexity around web dev.
Term 1 done for CoderAcademy_au. Excited to build out my portfolio and put some of my new dev skills to use over the coming weeks break 😀. #webdevelopment #techsyd
After struggling to find a free disabled parking spot to take my nan out for lunch North Bondi Fish I decided to plot all the disabled parking spaces in Waverley Council . Check it out at accessible-parking.herokuapp.com hope to grow this and make it more dynamic! #accessibility #techsyd
Cool getting some insight into the different roles in #CyberSecurity at CoderAcademy_au expert panel yesterday. I haven’t had much exposure to this growth industry but what interests me is an apparent need for skills and experience across multiple domains.
Probably nothing... I just applied to Alchemy University (Alchemy University) to earn my free web3 degree! Applications are open to everyone! LFG!!! university.alchemy.com
