We spent £72 million on mini fans in the last year to try and beat the heat. Before you rush out to buy one this summer: • Check if you already have one you forgot about • Consider a paper or wooden fan instead • Recycle any broken mini fans you find lurking at home

Complaints were received about a business continually leaving their commercial bin out on the public highway. A legal notice was issued and not complied with so a £110 fine has been issued.

Our appetite for FastTech is growing. We bought 1 billion cheap electricals in the UK in the last year – and over half of them were binned. By making sure these items are recycled when we’ve finished with them, the materials in them can be reused. 👉🏼 bit.ly/3K1zype

Dog owners - you can put bagged dog waste in any Leicester City Council litter bin, on the street or in parks & cemeteries - even if it doesn't have a poster or sign saying 'dog waste'. Dog waste is unpleasant for everyone, please bag it and bin it 💩

Despite the disposable vape ban, vapes are still ending up in the wrong waste streams. Need to get rid of a vape? It can be recycled with other electricals at our Recycling Centres, or can often be returned to the shop you bought it from. More info: ow.ly/H7AI50WVUme

I’m not rubbish! Recycle me! I’m looking forward to being recycled and used for train parts, so please don’t send me on a one-way trip to the rubbish bin. What else can you recycle in Leicester: ow.ly/KzuP50WZkjQ #RescueMeRecycle
