Nanomuovit voivat tuoreen tutkimuksen mukaan kulkea aivoja suojaavan veri-aivoesteen läpi. Tutkimus lisää merkittävästi ymmärrystä, miten nanomuovit voivat kulkeutua verenkierrossa ja vuorovaikuttaa elimistössä. Šárka Lehtonen UEF Neuroscience UEF Water uef.fi/fi/artikkeli/u…

Last week a new Postdoc started in our lab! Dr. Sinem Güden Yıldırım will explore nanoparticle-induced inflammasome activation in Parkinson’s. Thanks to YUFE - Young Universities for the Future of Europe for funding this work! We’re excited to welcome Sinem to Kuopio ☺️

Celebrating many great milestones of our hard work this week! 🥂 1 published paper (Sanni Peltonen & Jonna Niskanen), 1 accepted paper (Jonna Niskanen), & 1 submitted manuscript (Tuuli Sonninen)! Let's go 🥳💪

Congratulations, Jonna Niskanen , on publishing your first paper as a key part of your PhD UEF Doctoral Programme in Molecular Medicine!🎉 Your work on how human microglia respond to aSYN fibrils and inflammation significantly contributes to the field.A.I. Virtanen Institute UEF Neuroscience

Congratulations, Jonna Niskanen! Thank you, University of Eastern Finland, UEF Doctoral Programme in Molecular Medicine, and A.I. Virtanen Institute, for all the support! Also, thank you, Human Brain Disease Modelling, @LabMalm, Koistinaho Lab, and Kelvin C Luk for your contribution.

It may be dark outside but inside Lehtonen lab is BRIGHT 💡 Valtteri Syvänen received 3-year funding for doctoral research UEF Doctoral Programme in Molecular Medicine congrats! 🥂🥳 Thank you for funding this interesting project and motivated researcher 🤩💪🏻 A.I. Virtanen Institute

Warm congratulations to Sanni! The second paper of her PhD studies is now out, shedding light on pericytes’ role in #Parkinsons disease and providing new insights into inflammation and vascular changes. A.I. Virtanen Institute UEF Doctoral Programme in Molecular Medicine UEF Neuroscience
