i’ve got SEVEN new poems in ONLY POEMS—here’s one of them, “Corresponding with the Heterosexuals” (an activity i often find funny but sometimes not so fun)

Protestors are demanding asset reallocation in the endowments of private universities, but the scandal here is the sweet tax exemptions governments give to wealthy institutions while underfunding public higher ed.

Why are universities investing in weapons manufacturing? Is a question we should all be asking.

All our struggles are connected.

There is a real split developing between professors and university administrations across the country. Profs, students, and workers constitute the actual educational function of colleges. They ultimately have the power if they can figure out how to unite together and exercise it.

why don’t they ever say that Palestinian students and protestors are also valued members of the university community

Basically a teenager got disappeared and is still like 'yeah it was bad but nothing as bad as happens to Palestinians on a daily basis.' These kids are heroes.

Understand that these people’s evil is not limited to these protests. They are managers, teachers, cops, real-estate agents, and so forth. Their bigotry is not suddenly “shut off” in their work roles. No, they shape our society and the future of whomever they have authority over.

this is really such a great piece. a lot of tech criticism falls flat when it does not center how many of Silicon Valley’s networks obsess over insulating capitalism from democracy, over preserving class rule & power projection. reactionaries w a digital gloss

The young person whose poster this is has come to many protests since October and watching the names on her poster grow every time I see her is a punch in the gut. I cannot imagine the pain she must feel and yet on NU’s encampment I saw her actively leading things despite it all.
