Lang scores for Newcastle United, despite a great attempt by the Leeds United goalkeeper Potts. Leeds were described as the more scientific side, with superior and accurate passing, but a freak free kick from near the half way line saw Newcastle defeat Leeds 3-2, October 1928.

Another new football club for me, Islington FC. Only a junior club, it doesn’t say where they played but there must be a chance that they played on the Elland Road site, which was still the brewery sports ground at the time I believe. Also more than likely rugby football. 1893.
