Irish Cuckoo update - Cuach Torc and KP have been in Ivory Coast 🇨🇮 for the last few weeks building up for their big jump over Sahara. Long-tailed Tit nests are amazing structures. Shaped into a dome and made from Lichen and spiders webs, then filled with around 2,000 feathers. This one is being monitored for the #NestRecordScheme . More info at: tinyurl.com/nrsmonitoring
We like to think this canal-side house in #Shropshire is owned by a House Sparrow enthusiast. Perhaps we should go back and post a #NestingNeighbours leaflet through the letterbox!

I was told of a Mute Swan Blarney Castle & Gardens which had a ring on its leg and on Saturday Róisín Towe managed to read the ring. It has only moved 7km, but was ringed by John O'Halloran at The Lough nearly 21 years ago, making it the new Irish longevity record BTO BirdWatch Ireland EURING
Great to be back in Uist for the start of year 6 for the Rock Dove project. We are getting lots of interesting overwinter survival information, and have had a record movement of 17km! Thank you Steve Portugal and team for all your help 😁
