#EXP382 is over, and the last four days have been a whirlwind. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to sail and to meet so many incredible people! Now, on to Rapa Nui!

I love that the Museo Baburizza has a “botanic tour” with signs showing some of the local trees and plants present in the paintings! 🌿🌱🍃

one of the nicest things you can do for someone, i think, is let them get unapologetically excited about something they're passionate about, ask them engaging questions, show them that you're listening, and let them go on for as long as they want

I am so excited to announce that today, right now, you can watch the first episode of a three part miniseries I have been working on for the last year! It’s called Pondlife and (spoiler alert) it’s about microbes! Head over to American Museum of Natural History YouTube to check out the episode!

🌺PSA🌺 even taking your cat outside on a leash can be *dangerous* for them. The 1st pic was taken around the time rocky sat in a deer tick nest and became covered in thousands of little nymphs! We’ll be sticking to window sills and fire escapes for a while 😣 #wildlifeapproved

Time lapse animation of precipitable water for all of 2019. The band of moist air stretching along the equator corresponds to the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). It shifts north during N. Hemisphere summer and then south again during S. Hemisphere summer. (GFS model)

I've been getting a lot of questions about exoplanets since the Earth transit zone paper with Lisa Kaltenegger came out so I thought I'd re-share this video that Lee Stevens at American Museum of Natural History produced where we answered the question "How do we find new planets?" youtu.be/1Lyw_8fBNT8
