I’ve had Blocks in my setting for five years but they never cease to amaze me. Add loose parts to support oral storytelling and boost creativity ♥️

Albeit a little smelly, the children enjoyed transporting their beach finds back to the water tray at school to create their very own, under the sea habitat. Needless to say it only lasted a few days 🤣

Pedagogy: Play is not something else to do. It is another way to do what we do. Play IS learning. We need to value the role of play, curiosity and enquiry to support children’s thinking, and enhance their learning from the early years beyond.

A motion has been passed by the SNP Government to raise the school starting age to 6 and replace the initial years with play. This has made my heart sing. #playistheway
