Today is a hot chocolate kind of day.

Our grade 2 scientists tackled the Mystery Liquid Investigation! 🧪 Using their keen observation skills, they described the look, smell, and texture of each liquid before making their best guesses. I'll reveal the actual liquids tomorrow!

Grade 3 scientists are diving into gravitational force! We dropped different balls to observe how gravity pulls them down. Which one landed first? Ask your young physicist! 🌍🔍

We enjoyed a playing Race to 20 with our reading buddies. We learning to count on from different starting points.

Grade 3 scientists had a blast exploring magnetic force at our magnet stations this week! They were amazed to see magnets push and pull... feeling the force of repelling magnets was a highlight!

Grade 2 scientists explored "Disappearing Solids" this week! We mixed different solids with water and observed what happened. We'll check back on Monday to see if any changes occurred over the weekend. Science is full of surprises!

On Wednesday, January 22nd, LC will participate in Bell Let’s Talk Day. Staff and students will engage in activities and conversations about what we can do to support our own and each other’s mental health. Help us raise awareness for Mental Health by wearing Blue and White 💙🤍

Today, our school was energized by The Saidat Show! 🌟 The Saidat Show Students were inspired by Saidat’s powerful message of kindness, inclusion, and making a positive impact in our world. "Kindness and respect make a ripple effect!"

So much buzz in grade one as we light up our energy unit making circuits! ⚡💡

Grade 2 scientists explored liquid layers—some liquids don’t mix! We added solids and discovered some sink and some float. Some of the solids rest at different layers.

We are learning to sequence and retell stories. Our students were captivated by the story Stick Man.

February is #BlackHistoryMonth, and our HCDSB community will be honouring Black Canadians, both past & present!

On Friday our grade 4-8 students attended a powerful P.E.A.C.E. assembly

Students in Grades 4-6 took part in the Rocks and Rings program, where they explored the sport of curling while building teamwork and having fun!

Today we explored buoyancy. We made predictions, tested materials, and recorded the results.

LC was inspired by an incredible visit from motivational speaker D.O. Gibson D.O. Gibson! A Guinness World Record-setting rapper, author, and speaker, D.O. empowers students with messages on anti-bullying, leadership, and perseverance "Stay Driven"!
