Not 1 single news article I have read covering latest news about infant #formula #marketing has been factually correct. All have misreported the purposes of legal marketing restrictions. These are outlined in the section ‘rationale underpinning U.K. law’ bflg-uk.org/uk-laws

In short, restrictions on marketing of #formula exist to protect ALL babies, however they are fed. If strong & enforced they protect #breastfeeding AND ensure safe & appropriate formula feeding, eg by preventing unsubstantiated claims on formula, which drives up their price

This. The laws are to protect parents from exploitative marketing. Not to punish them.
