We had the honor to welcome MedUni Wien Rector Markus Müller and CeMM Scientific Director Giulio Superti-Furga for their opening speech at the 11th International Conference on Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases (Udninternational)
Session 3 of the 11th Conference on Rare and Undiagnosed Diseaes is focused on Neurological Diseases. We start this session with a presentation by @gaianovarino (ISTAustria) titled "Studying brain development through the lens of human rare diseases"
The second talk of Session 3 is delivered by Han Brunner (Radboudumc) on the topic "Why do we have the diseases we have?"
Today's last session has a thematic focus on "Model systems and Therapeutics". We are very thankful to Jörg Menche (Jörg Menche, Universität Wien & Max Perutz Labs Vienna) who just gave an inspiring talk how network approaches can help in understanding rare diseases and developing new therapies
Day 1 closes with a podium discussion about the future of rare diseases with a fantastic lineup – William A. Gahl, MedUni Wien Vice Rector Michaela Fritz, Christiane Druml (MedUni Wien,LBI-RUD), Helene Cederroth (Wilhelm Foundation), Cornelia Dechant – moderated by M. Nowotny ORF
