THIS IS A SIMULATION but it has valid learning points. Collisions like this occur in rural areas where drivers turn into lay-bys or car parks without indicating or indicating too late bikers are overtaking a line of traffic. #takeanotherlook

#5 FILTERING IS LEGAL but can be dangerous if executed >15 mph and/or when passing a #JUNCTION .

If the Police cannot trace the vehicle that caused the diesel spill, then injured bikers often have their PI cases processed by the MIB.

#4 FILTERING SMIDSY Filtering on a motorcycle is perfectly legal. It's a way to make safe progress through stationary or slow moving traffic. 15-20mph is recommended. Filtering at #JUNCTIONS can be hazardous as drivers may not see you. #TakeAnotherLook

LEFT TURNING VEHICLES SMIDSY
#3 danger situation.This occurs when a car is indicates to turn left at a #junction and car pulls out because the driver thinks the road is clear. #SMIDSY (Sorry Mate I Didn't See you) is just not good enough. Drivers + riders need to #TAKEANOTHERLOOK

Police Scotland Bring back the Think bike campaign on TV the noise of the crash really did make you think bike at junctions, and it still does all these years later.

CASE STUDY: Severe injuries following an accident due to diesel spill require MIB claim through untraced driver's scheme. Initial problems and delays were resolved when a new MIB case manager took over the case allowing David to get his life back.
