During today’s Agency Flight Readiness Review, NASA decided to autonomously return Starliner from the International Space Station.

Not the way we wanted or envisioned the test flight to end but our ops teams are now transitioning to ensure Calypso’s successful return to the desert.

My team and I worked with Butch and Suni to finalize the config of the return cargo in Calypso this morning. This afternoon they will do a final check of the cabin and close the hatches between it and International Space Station. Still on track for undock and landing tomorrow evening.

#Starliner's hatch is closed, and teams in Houston are preparing the spacecraft to leave International Space Station. Undocking coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. ET on Sept. 6, with a landing planned for ~12 a.m. ET on Sept. 7. Watch: boeing.com/starliner#watch
