Today 8 of our primary classrooms visited MTYP to see the production of Tetris! It’s safe to say the highlight was the little (big) dance party at the end!

The Dungeons and Dragons club is a group of grade 5 and 6 students that have spent the last few months creating characters, building worlds and bringing their stories to life!

Puzzle club was a huge success! Grade 1s and 2s were invited to participate in a lunchtime club in February and the turn out was amazing! Almost 100 children filled the hallway to work together and complete puzzles from 24 all the way to 500 pieces.

Not only did Ss learn about the eclipse in their classrooms, there was also some eclipse art to celebrate the phenomenon.

A big thank you to @aitccanada for visiting our two Gr 3 French Immersion classrooms today! Lynne White led us through the importance of Canadian agriculture, farming and watershed. It was interactive, engaging and fun!

We want to share a heartfelt congratulations to our head custodian, Gerhard, on his retirement. He has spent the last 5 years of his career here at Laura Secord and our staff and students will miss him dearly. We look forward to hearing about all of your upcoming travels!

Room 105 had a visit from the Rock the Animals Education Program: Be a Tree. They learned how to read dogs' body language and they used their new detective skills and tools to learn how to be safe around dogs.

There will be no school on Monday May 6th. We will see everyone on Tuesday!

Rms 203 and 214 had an amazing field trip to MTYP this morning to see Honolulu Theatre For Youth performance of "The Pa'akai" We Bring". What an outstanding play for youth. The kids (and adults) were enthralled with their ancient stories and their live music.

What a success! Last night’s primary spring concert was nothing short of incredible 😀 A BIG shout out goes to our music specialist, Danny Granzow for orchestrating 9 classrooms of grades 1-3 putting on a performance that they’ll never forget ❤️
