Join us Tuesday April 2 to rally for Rikers Voting Rights! People in jail have the right to vote, yet they do not have access to the polls in Rikers Jail. The Vote in NYC Jails Coalition is demanding that the Board of Elections give access to the polls for New Yorkers in Rikers!

🚨🚨 At City Hall today to press our case for the nearly 1 million NYers who'd be empowered by Local Law 11 to have a say 🗳️ on local issues. We filed appeal last week to take this case to the highest NYS court. We urge the City to join us & appeal this law to expand democracy.

In 2021, NYC took made history by enfranchising over a million lawfully present New Yorkers through #LocalLaw11 !

Today we are appealing the court’s decision to repeal this law, & call for them to protect democracy by reinstating Local Law 11.

Our appeal today marks another chapter in our fight for municipal voting rights in NYC. Local Law 11 is about making sure every New Yorker's vote counts.
