Wow! This thread is so disheartening, infuriating & saddening. When I was a psychologist-in-training, something similar happened to me. Becoming a Black doctor is hard & unfair on so many levels. This is why I specialize in doing therapy w/POC professionals now. We need the care.

This!! What indeed is going on with white families that they produce the majority of mass shooters? Black psychologists have theorized about this for decades & deemed it cultural psychopathology. However, white supremacy ensures those theorists work is labeled radical & ignored.

Expecting Black people to be superhuman and transcend their material conditions is a form of dehumanization.
