@monokromfonts This is why I think the OFL is a good idea. Instead of “stealing” outlines, people could be open about the fact that what they made is a fork of a previous design. We don't need people wasting time starting 1000s of typefaces from scratch every year.

Ending the week in a service hotline call. Distorted voices, routed through hundreds of VoIP servers all over the world, more compressed in each of them and so much lag. That's not the future I was promised. True telephony-dystopia.

With the launch of #variablefonts in 2016, truly advanced, inclusive typography became possible. So why has adoption of variations been so slow? Dave Crossland joins David Berlow @sannorozco Lasse Fister for questions and ideas on how to move forward in “Calibrating Type.” #ATypITechTalks

Variable technology used for seamless column justification. Fantastic practical and 'under the hood' use of variable font technology demonstrated by Lasse Fister using the XTRA variable axis specified by Font Bureau. Interesting stuff being presented at the ATypI: Association Typographique Internationale TechTalks.
