Now that I’m finished presenting, I’m starting to process/reflect on what it means to be/present at AERA I need to figure out a way to honor that girl from East LA trying her best but knowing the road will be bumpier than most due to things that she can’t control. 💛

Got to listen and learn from some PHENOMENAL school counselors/school counselor educators today. So much important research being done on our field to promote college readiness and critique and dismantle racist oppressive systems!!

I’m relieved University of California & The CSU will use the CA Dream Act Application to allow students from mixed-status families to apply for state financial aid. But I continue to hope UC & Michael V. Drake will do the right thing & extend enrollment deadlines for students. 1/x
