Eric Berger Full & rapid reusability of booster & ship and orbital refilling of ship are the 2 fundamental technologies we aim to solve by the end of next year. Those are the critical pieces necessary to make life multiplanetary.

Somewhat belated on account of my appendix getting deleted…but landing Starship on the ocean feels as significant as Falcon 9’s first landing (1/3)

The Starship team is go for prop load, and weather is looking ideal for today's flight test! The launch webcast will go live ~35 minutes ahead of liftoff which is currently targeted for 7:25am CT

I know the booster landing was the main event But massive shout to the heatshield team! 🥹❤️ When they asked us to swap the assembly after flight 4 it felt impossible. Thousands of hours of work later, we made an on target entry. So proud of the team for the monumental effort

This is a real video of a past SpaceX Starship water landing. Trying again tomorrow. We need to perfect ship reentry at extreme temperatures before attempting to catch the ship with the tower arms, like the booster.
