The City of L.A. is supporting the LA County Sheriffs through this horrific incident in Monterey Park. LAFD/ATF arson investigators and members of the LAPD bomb squad are assisting at the training facility. The thoughts of all Angelenos are with all of those impacted by this blast.

Around 2:00 a.m. this morning, Rampart Patrol officers responded to a radio call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the area of Vermont Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard. Preliminary information indicates a vehicle drove into a crowd for reasons still under investigation.

A Tsunami Advisory has been issued, replacing the Tsunami Watch. The tsunami should arrive near 1AM tonight. If you are located in the coastal area, move off the beach & out of harbors & marinas. Do not go to the coast to watch. Be alert to instructions from local EM officials.

Here are tsunami safety tips for those in coastal areas. Boaters may need to leave harbor and go to a depth of at least 50 to 1000 fathoms. People on land should avoid harbors & marinas, get off and away from the beach. #CAWX
