Very proud of our PhD student Lani Davies, who delivered an excellent talk on fragment-based drug discovery at the ASBMB Conference 2023 ourANU!

Thank you to the Canberra Protein Group for sponsoring my attendance and giving me the chance to present some of my work with the Colin Jackson and the Christoph Nitsche at the ASBMB Conference 2023 conference!

Very honoured to receive the ANU Vice-Chancellor Award for Excellence in Advancing Research. This one is for my family, particularly my wife Marlena and our two older children, Lotti and Alex, who have made numerous sacrifices over the past 10 years. I owe them everything!

Three drugs never seen in Australia before have been identified by ANU chemists at @CanTESTCBR. With the festival season in full swing, the #ANUexperts are calling for pill testing to be rolled out nationwide to reduce harm for users. We’re launching a new series which spotlights some of the most innovative labs in peptide science. Kicking off this series is the The Nitsche Group, renowned for its pioneering work in peptide chemical biology and its collaborative environment. lnkd.in/egU4mxeW

In this preprint, we report nanobodies capable of binding gallium, indium and bismuth for theranostic applications. Thanks to Pritha Ghosh and Lani Davies from ANU Research School of Chemistry for their tireless efforts. We look forward to future collaborations to further advance this technology.

I’m very excited that the second paper from my PhD is out in Angewandte Chemie now! Very grateful to Pritha Ghosh for being the best partner in this project and Christoph Nitsche for giving me the opportunity to work on such an interesting and fun project! 😊

We had a great group retreat yesterday at the beautiful NSW South Coast! It was also a bittersweet moment as we farewelled our Honours student Sauhta, who recently wrapped up a project on engineered nanobodies ANU Research School of Chemistry. Best wishes for the future Sauhta!
