I find it strange, the hatred some folks have towards free school lunches. Having grown up in poverty, I can tell you this: a student who’s not eating is a student who’s not learning. And if they’re not getting meals at school, they may not be getting meals at all.

Two things can be true: 1) Libraries weed books; 2) Schools under political pressure use β€œweeding” as an excuse for getting rid of certain books.

If you are a Christian and you are mocking Gus Walz, a young man who is neurodivergent and who loves his father, consider this: You might be the ONLY Bible anyone will ever read. Mocking people with disabilities is not just poor form - it's flat out wrong.

The prospect of students using AI to write essays should alarm everyone. The purpose of education isn’t to pass exams, it’s to become someone who can read deeply, who can communicate, who can think. We mustn’t farm out our minds to machines.

Not all heroes wear capes. These people are doing the work of defending one of the core democratic principles: Freedom to think, read, and advocate for oneself. Godspeed, friends! #Freadom

We lose the habit of reading because we’re afraid of wasting our time. We think we need to be preoccupied and productive at all times. But people are not machines, and you are nourished by naps and fiction and basking in sunlight, no less than by food and drink.
