I can’t find the exact quotation from Luther but his thought lines up with Calvin on this, “its [civil government’s] objects also are that idolatry, sacrileges against the name of God, blasphemies against his truth, and other offenses against religion...”

...may not openly appear and be disseminated among the people” Luther definitely held that the suppression of blasphemy was an appropriate function of the temporal kingdom

Today in the Prayer Book is set a beautiful prayer that not only serves to glorify God and ask for divine aid but also to set forth the responsibilities of life lived in the light of the Resurrection.

"Low views of the sacrament betray invariably a low view of the mystery of the incarnation itself, and a low view of the Church also, as that new and higher order of life, in which the power of this mystery continues to reveal itself through all ages" (p.303).

laudablePractice I don’t even really understand low views of the sacraments anymore. It can sound like God left us without substantive means of grace. It can even sound atheistic.

Unfolding the Reformed Eucharistic theology embodied in the BCP and Articles, the book is a glorious reminder of how these set forth that in the Supper, in Calvin's words, we partake of "the very substance itself of the Son of Man".
