Question for strip till owners, what machines have you found better than others, build quality and finish of the job.? What have you got and what has been your experience with using what you have?

When knee surgery doesn’t go as planned but you buy the kids a toy and next minute, it’s actually very useful.

Looking at flat bottom silos? Should we go full floor aeration or H type? Anything to consider or steer clear of?

Neo barley. Not an overly wet season but 30mm in couple weeks will make for some decent yields

Sun master wheat. On some red soil not going too bad either

Planting sorghum. Might be too early but this paddock gets wet up the north end. Even the light shower last night was almost too much, less than 5mm.

Yesterday we lost about 20ha of barley. Wife took this from our house. Started from the end knife on the front less than 2m into the crop. You could turn it by hand but something obviously isn’t right lucky we have two fronts and going today with 41ft. Only crop lost.

No smoke today 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ yield is more than I thought with a dry finish so pretty happy at the moment

On to wheat.

Sorghum finally all in. Harvest still rolling along, but we are going to get wet on Friday and over the weekend for sure.

Weather isn’t playing the game but we’re still moving forward.
