Congratulations to our colleague Andy Lovering and his group for their latest discovery on how predatory bacteria generate their specific shape, optimized for killing of prey cells. This was a collaborative project led by Bdellovibrio Lab. nature.com/articles/s4146….

My 1st first-author paper is finally out..! We found that the curvature of Bdellovibrio enhances its predatory ability. Thank you to everyone involved in this exciting project and of course to the bdellos themselves for being endlessly fascinating! 🥳🔬🦠 nature.com/articles/s4146…

Really happy to share my second PhD paper and first as a co-corresponding author! We found that Bdellovibrio secretes a lytic transglycosylase into its prey in order to cleave the PG septum of dividing prey bacteria. Thank you to everyone involved! 🥳 journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/jb…
