The Weinman Lab had a great time Southern Ale House celebrating another fun semester! Thank you to the students for all of their hard work! #Fall2023 U. of Alabama Chemical & Biological Eng.
We had a wonderful time at the ERN Conference with the participants from our U.S. National Science Foundation EFRI REM Summer program! Thank you U.S. National Science Foundation and AAAS for allowing us to provide this experience to our participants! #ERN2024
The Weinman Lab received many awards at the U. of Alabama Chemical & Biological Eng. honors ceremony this year! Lauren Ward - American Institute of Chemists Graduate Award and 2nd place at ChBE symposium Bryn Larson - Alexander Stanton Memorial Award Steven Weinman - OXE and ChBE Teaching Impact Awards
That is a wrap on the Spring 2024 semester! Thank you to my wonderful research group for all of the hard work they put in this semester. Congratulations to Nick, Caroline, and Mary for graduating with their BS in ChemE! U. of Alabama Chemical & Biological Eng. UA College of Engineering AIChE Bama
The Weinman Lab had a great North American Membrane Society (NAMS) 2024 meeting. We had 3 oral presentations and 4 posters! Always love getting to discuss membranes with this community. #membranes U. of Alabama Chemical & Biological Eng. Styslinger College of Engineering Alabama Water Institute
Excited to share The Weinman Lab first paper on greener solvents, 2-methylpyrazine (2MP, a more hydrophobic solvent) for membrane fabrication! Using 2MP gave lower MWCOs and a narrower pore size distribution. Great work Joseph, Liam, Maggie, and Blake! U. of Alabama Chemical & Biological Eng. doi.org/10.1021/acs.ie…
Thrilled to share a new #KimLab paper led by Spenser Brown (PhD '23), in collab w/ Han-A Park, Kim Lackey, & The Weinman Lab groups, on how breast cancer cells under fluid shear stress produce EVs that modulate the phenotype of other cells mdpi.com/2843854 via Biomolecules MDPI
Heath Turner and I are excited to announce a new U.S. National Science Foundation project: Molecularly-Regulated Interfacial Polymerization to Engineer Selective Polyamide Reverse Osmosis Membranes nsf.gov/awardsearch/sh… We appreciate the support from the Interfacial Engineering Program and @ChristyMPayne
U. of Alabama Chemical & Biological Eng. has three open-rank faculty openings this year. We consider all research areas! Come join the fastest growing chemical engineering department of the country! Here is the link for Assistant Professor level: careers.ua.edu/jobs/chemical-…
Excited to share Lauren and Cate's publication Journal of Membrane Science! Pattern sizes smaller and larger than the foulant size fouled slightly less than the patterns of similar size to the foulant. Thanks to the U.S. National Science Foundation and @ChristyMPayne for funding this work! doi.org/10.1016/j.mems…
