New research by Labour Together reveals the nature of inequalities in public investment. What we call 'growth spending' is 41 per cent lower in the East Midlands per capita than it is in London. Here's a regional breakdown:

The Conservatives failed to "level up" the UK, leaving wild geographic inequalities: for instance, a baby boy born in Hart in Hampshire can expect to live to 83; if they're born in Blackpool, it's 73. My excellent colleagues Labour Together, led by JP Spencer , have answers:

🧵 For too long, Britain’s economy has been heavily focused on London and the South East leaving many regions behind. Children born in Hampshire live a decade longer than ones from Blackpool. House prices in the SE are 10 times average earnings - double that in the North East.
