Beautiful day for practice today. Excited for our first games in nearly a year this weekend when we travel to play at Salem University.

Breds open the season with 5-3 and 7-4 wins over Salem University. Brady Bibbs and Dashawn Hureskin earned the wins, while Johnathon Morris saved both games. Dom Lawson, Kevin Givhan, Josh Graves, Boo Thompson and Aram Kumar led the offensive attack today.

Today’s game at Salem has been cancelled due to weather. Breds head home 2-0 and scheduled to play at home March 10 against Pikeville.

Superlatives from yesterday’s wins: Brady Bibbs earns his 2nd win, working 6 innings with 6 hits, 3 runs allowed, 6 BB and 6 K. Jace Wilson and Collier Higgs each added two hits (including a Higgs HR) in the 8-3 win.

Dashawn Hureskin earned the complete game 9-2 win in game 2 with 7 innings pitched, 4 hits, 1 earned run, 3 BB and 6 K. Kevin Givhan, Brennon Williams (including a HR) and Aram Kumar added 2 hits each. The Breds move to 4-0 on the season and next play at Lane on March 13-14.
