I would like to thank Hon. Godfrey Ssuubi Kiwanda Kiwanda Godfrey Ssuubi the outgoing Minister of State for Tourism, who served us well since 2016. His vigor, vibrancy, patriotism, and love for Brand Uganda has been exemplary.

UTB has since its inception, with support of our mother Ministry and the private sector, grown tourism arrivals by 78% from 844,000 in 2008/09 to 1,505,000 in 2018/19. Sector earnings grew by more than 17%, from USD590 million to USD 1.6 billion - creating 677,600 jobs.

We are committed to working with our political leadership, and the technical Ministry leaders, headed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Doreen Katusiime, to recover from the impact of covid-19 and rebuild the brand Uganda into Africa’s most competitive destination.
