Genuinely have no idea who Steve Albini is but judging by all your posts he was your closest friend apparently, he'd come over all the time to hang out and play GoldenEye on the weekends with you

I don’t even know what to say. Big Black and Shellac were EVERYTHING to me for my formative years. Albini’s lyrics were, are, possibly the biggest non-literary influence on me. Total freak shit, impossibly negative, I loved it so much. I can’t believe this.

Read an interview with a friend's band from 1997 this morning describing a chance encounter w/ Albini at a gas station in Montana. While they filled up, a guy pops out of nowhere saying, 'I'm Steve Albini and that's a bootleg Big Black sticker on your van.'
