Massachusetts is one of the worst states in America in housing production, building only 2 units per 1,000 residents. Not only are housing costs soaring for those here but we’ve artificially stunted our economic growth and placed the future of the Commonwealth in jeopardy.

It's Game of Thrones and it's not really an argument. This show was a cultural juggernaut, every week the whole internet watched together, it was endlessly quoted, children were named after the characters, and no one brings it up anymore because the last season was so awful.

If someone showed up in Manchester and said ‘you can’t work on improving the Standard Model Lagrangian’ we’d just tell them to fuck off.

This is beyond irresponsible and stupid. Not only should every officer be required to identify themselves, comments like this should get you fired. You simply are not allowed to behave this way as a person representing the government.

This clown is claiming that post-WW2 US nuclear secrecy laws apply to particle physics and this has stymied progress in fundamental physics (an almost entirely different field) -- but is too far up his own *ss he hasn't realised that US laws only apply in the US.

A while ago Jerusalem Demsas reached out to me to pitch me on a job. She said a lot of things, but one that really stuck with me was 'liberals are not temporarily embarrassed communists. We have our own ideology and we've got to make the case for it."

800+ reports of unidentified objects. Zero concrete evidence of any object doing anything physically anomalous. ASA has already admitted many of these reports have been categorized by them as simply being mundane objects that the witness was confused by. Can the rest be too?

Would the US, right now, become a richer country, if a few tens of millions of people became enslaved, had wages+consumption go to zero, and their labor profits concentrated in the hands of a few? Definitely not. We are richer overall when everyone has more freedom and money.

Exactly. Their mistake was getting too specific and saying they had collected proof. You can tell whatever mythic stories you want if you say you can't show evidence. You can tell stories about "them" hiding it. But when you say you do have evidence, people expect you to show it

Why are people who make income via tips deserving of special tax exemptions that other workers aren't? Should kindergarten teacher compensation be shifted into tips instead of salaries? Why not just reduce income taxes in lower brackets, to benefit everyone with the same income?
