It was wonderful to all join together in school today and celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. We were joined by Jim Carter, the deputy Lord Lieutenant, who led a fantastic assembly and then joined the school council in planting an Oak tree to commemorate the special occasion.

So grateful for all the support for the School Council’s fund raiser for the people of Ukraine. It was so humbling to see pupils and families donating generously and taking a moment to reflect on the terrible situation by our Ukrainian flag. Together we will make a difference.

Once again, I am so proud of all the pupils in the school choir. Another amazing performance at Ewood Park this evening for the Big Sing concert. Thanks to all the staff for all your hard work and to all parents/carers for supporting too. What a phenomenal atmosphere!

What a tour of the Houses of Parliament! The school council loved meeting The Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP and receiving their Houses of Parliament bookmarks. Even better to be invited to watch the speaker’s procession. Thank you The Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP! The pupils feel very privileged.

A once in a lifetime experience for the school council today. Thank you to Mrs Chapman for organising a superb day, all the staff who attended and Mr. Hannant (governor) for your help. Tired staff and pupils are now safely on the train home!

To top off a very busy week, tonight we had our summer fair. It was amazing to get the whole school community together again following the pandemic. To make the event extra special, I even donned my Bananaman outfit and joined the office staff as a human fruit machine!

Good luck to the school choir who are performing at King George’s Hall this evening for the Let’s Go Sing concert. They have worked so hard all year and I am sure that their hard work and dedication will pay off with a wonderful performance tonight.
