For all our LLM (and many ML) projects at Shopify we standardized on promptfoo.dev for writing evals. That has caused a lot of great progress speedups. Highly recommended if you are looking for good eval system. Fun realization: TDD is alive and well in the ML world!

Fuck around, find out. Improve. Repeat. Based OODA loop. Share your work, maybe write papers after the fact. Maybe let someone else do it. Just build.

Today we've acquired VANTAGE AI and welcomed founders Nigel Daley, Lance Riedel and the team to Shopify. Their incredible Search platform will level up the search experience for Shopify users. Now, why Search is important is left as an exercise for the inquisitive reader :-)
