Long COVID in context - great friday read by Roxanne Khamsi So much immune biology yet to understand... “By the time you’re caring for the person, the pathogen is long gone, it’s just that it’s initiated this cascade of immune-mediated damage,” nytimes.com/2021/04/06/opi…

Overall thread by Andrei Slabodkin is interesting - but this point in particluar:

I first worked w/ Michael Gilman >20 yrs ago(!) Biogen. Then, when he was at Stromedix, we each had Dan Lynch as our Board Chair. Then on the Board together Scholar Rock. Now, working together in a different context Arrakis Therapeutics. Each a great experience. Congrats, well-deserved.

Nice overview of mAbs' ascendance as a modality by Asher Mullard w/ great data. Early on, had to address foundational tech challenges (eg, humanization, yield, high concentration formulations); innovation continues today. Now 100 approved mAb products. nature.com/articles/d4157…

CRISPR technologies are powerful gene editing tools because they are programmable. We are excited to describe 3 new programmable systems, IscB, IsrB, and TnpB, some of the most abundant genes on the planet, with potential for gene editing. Science Magazine science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Fantastic hike, thank you Luke, Art, and Life Science Cares for the motivation. This little showed up on the hike down to give regards as well.

Extremely disappointed by today’s Supreme Court decision limiting a woman’s right to control her own health outcomes – especially when 2/3 Americans support that right. We must continue to fight to protect reproductive health. BioCentury #MyViews #RoeVsWade
