ちょうど1年前に撮影した底生有孔虫(左)と放散虫(右)だよ。放散虫は刺があるので写真を縮小しているけど殻の大きさはどちらも0.4mmくらい。どちらも単細胞の原生生物だけど有孔虫の殻は炭酸カルシウム、放散虫の殻はシリカだよ。有孔虫の殻は貝や珊瑚、円石藻と同じ、放散虫の殻は珪藻と同じ成分だよ。
