Speaking at the Istanbul Peace conference I was able to reflect on how Rotary’s efforts to create days of tranquility which resulted is us carrying out effective Immunization days resulting in Sri Lanka achieving Polio free status before any other country in South Asia.

So good to have spent an evening of with Sangkoo Yun, Holger Knaack, Per Hoyen and Safak Alpay and our spouses. Rotary titles did not matter. We were just five couples of close friends having fun frolic and a night out!

Somewhat embarrassed by the regalia the DGE of D 3182 in India are adorning me with. But they do it with so much affection.! they are conducting their assistant governor training in Sri Lanka

D 2981 is gifting 2500 cycles to be distributed amongst those who needed in the rural areas of Sri Lanka. The gift is being ceremonial flagged off in Colombo. The DG Siva and DGND Loganathan with me and Vanathy on a cycle with me.

I cuddled him when he was a year old. 10 years later my grand son Alex has got his arm around me. Time has flown. We’ve both got old!

One of the finest features of the recent International Assembly in Orlando was the presentation by Dilhan C Fernando the scion of my friend Merrill J Fernando founder of the Famous Dilmah Tea company speaking on “Business is a matter of human service”. He was just brilliant!

This year, we celebrate the by 50th anniversary of Rotary Youth Exchange. For 50 years, we’ve enabled students to experience new cultures, develop lasting friendships, and become global citizens. We’re grateful to the dedicated Rotary members/ host families who made it possible.

Good to have some some members of the Rotary club of Singapore visiting me at home. I thanked them for the generous support they extended to our children’s hospital and gift of books to children in the up country area.

In Kuala Lumpur at the invitation of South Indian D 3203 for their President Elect Learning sessions. Over 200 of them here. Happy to be received by the incoming leaders Edward from Malaysia and Dhanasekhar of D 3203.

Great to spend time with the ladies of D 3203 all spouses of Presidents Elect. From everything I heard this seems to be turning out to be a wonderful district ticking all the-boxes in terms of membership, TRF giving and Projects. .

Stopping by in Singapore to spend a few hours in transit with my granddaughter, Tessa. Nothing else gives me this much happiness. God bless these little children.
