2nd graders finished their adaptation unit by making creature feature suits that had to include 3 different adaptations that real animals have and hooking them up to #makeymakey & #scratch for an interactive audio experience. So fun! Makey Makey Scratch Team

A2. In addition to working as a learning designer on the Scratch Team team, I'm also a former high school art teacher. I brought Scratch into my classroom as a creative tool for making interactive artwork #scratchinpractice

A3. I’ve always been amazed by student responses to injustice in their communities. Be it campaigning to lower the cost of school lunches, or fundraising for local organizations, areas where they can create a real impact ignite passion 🔥 #scratchinpractice

A4. In the past, art students have created cut-paper political posters tackling subjects ranging from global warming, to teen pregnancy and displayed them throughout their school. I can easily see these projects reimagined in Scratch as interactive pieces. #scratchinpractice

A5. I have yet to create a Multi Animator Project (MAP) in Scratch Team, but have been so inspired by collaborative projects created by multiple Scratchers, which tackle important issues. I’d love to give this a try, particularly in a school or learning community #scratchinpractice

A6. As an educator, my goal is always to facilitate, not lead. While supporting students in creating projects which tackle subjects they feel personally passionate about, it’s important to create a safe space for them to express ideas and support each other #scratchinpractice
