6th grade Honors ELA Jerling Junior High presented Passion Projects where they blended novels w/their passions. They were creative and amazing. ❤️ Trading cards, dance, recycling, laser printing, music, & more! Ss connected their passions to characters, plot, themes, mood, etc!

Such a fun year w/6th grade Jerling Junior High! My pm ELA student’s final project was to teach the class a skill! This cheer presentation on the Double Toe Touch was a hit & perfect for getting their energy out!

This morning @OSD students from CJH, JJH, & OJH toured the canals of Tortuguero! We saw caiman, iguanas, spider & howler monkeys, and different types of beautiful birds!

On Day 4 in Costa Rica, students from CJH, JJH, & OJH went zip-lining in Sarapiqui! It was an amazing experience & though some were scared (me included), they pushed through & overcame their fears! 이경민 is resilient!

CJH, JJH, & OJH students building friendships w/each other, but also w/students from Montana! We are having a blast together & on Day 5, we had the ultimate team building experience: White Water Rafting on the Sarapiqui River in Costa Rica! Team Mallo/Conway conquered the rapids!

On Day 5 we also toured an organic pineapple farm. We learned how to grow pineapples, pick them from the fields, & how to pick a ripe one! 🍍 Orland District 135

Costa Rica Day 6 Part 2! Visited the La Fortuna Waterfall & a chocolate plantation. We learned the entire chocolate making process from growing cacao, roasting & grinding the beans, & making/eating chocolate! Delicious! 🍫😋Orland District 135

Day 7 in CR, we hiked Rincón de La Vieja Volcano National Park. 🌋 94% of CR's energy is from renewable sources (hydro, solar, wind, & geothermal)-the largest geothermal power plant is here! We enjoyed seeing the sulfur spewing mud pots and hot springs! Orland District 135

Our last full day in Costa Rica we went snorkeling & hung out w/ White throated capuchin monkeys on the beach! We also enjoyed a boat tour through Palo Verde National Park where we saw crocodiles, long-nosed bats, & a war between howler & capuchin monkeys! @osd135 #PuraVida🤟

Our final stop on our trip ✈️ with EF Educational Tours was to Rome! 🏛️Jerling Junior High explored the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, & The Vatican, among others!
