I was supposed to go the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research annual members meeting in Boulder this week. Instead, this statement will be read tomorrow to all the member representatives on my behalf. One of the most difficult things I have ever had to write.

I was diagnosed with cancer in April. Unfortunately, chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy couldn’t tame this, and my medical team is now focused on keeping me comfortable while I spend the last chapter of my life with my partner, family, and friends. 1/4
