Further examination of the image from July 2 shows the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS is not cometary. An image from 21.48 UT 37x60 seconds exposed. However, it cannot be ruled out that there is still a tiny coma that can only be detected by very large telescopes.

After reading that comet 3I/ATLAS is particularly rich in CO2, we photographed the comet on August 28 using a blue filter. In the 16x100-second image, we were able to detect a 48“ long tail that is relatively high in contrast for the first 25” Gerald Rhemann, Michael Jäger

For the past few days, the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS has been displaying a blue-green gas coma measuring 2.5 arcminutes across. A short tail was also visible on September 9 when photographed with the 12"/f-3.6 astrograph in Namibia. image Gerald Rhemann, Michael Jäger

Comet Lemmon will be spectacular. If we can already see it now, what will it be like in October? C/2025 A6 Lemmon 2025-09-21 2.40 UT 11" RASA Asi 294m mosaic 9/9min Michael Jäger, Gerald Rhemann
