Minor tragedy tonight with a Walmart delivery. I opened a DELICIOUS turtle creme pie… … only to discover that it had no plastic wrapping. I tossed it and got a refund, but darnit! I wanted more pie!

As someone who suffers from intermittent chronic pain (for a few reasons), I just want to say that it sucks. Tonight it's in my legs, probably stemming from a back injury. ☹️

The other book I am reading for my MFA program (Advanced Studies in Literature) is "Scythe" by Neal Shusterman, which serves as my contemporary read. I'm not very far in, but it's a nice contrast to AMONG THE HIDDEN (which was my classic). Off to read now!

As someone who primarily writes series, I have been thinking about doing something different in 2026. Making it a year of writing standalone fiction. This may clash somewhere with my MFA aspirations, and I may need to write my thesis, but the idea intrigues me. Thoughts?
